Photos are an essential part of showcasing your restaurant on your website and also on social media.  In addition to your Logo and Main Home Page or Profile Photos, here is some guidance on the types of photos that will help you promote your restaurant and grow your followers and customers.

Exterior Photos help customers recognize your restaurant

1. Capture a photo of the Front of the restaurant and also from whatever angle(s) patrons may approach your restaurant.

2. Capture photos that show your restaurant at different times of day.
Interior and Patio Dining Photos
Interior and/or Patio Dining Photos help your customers get a feel for the ambiance and decor of your Restaurant

1. Capture photos that show the atmosphere of your restaurant.

2. Take photos of the dining room/patio with and without patrons. 
Food & Drink Photos
Food and drink photos are what everyone wants to see.  They add color and detail to your website, your online order menu, to social posts and they are most likely to encourage people to eat at your restaurant or order your food online.

1. Showcase the most popular dishes on your menu. 

2. Make sure the photos are taken with even light.  
Team Photos
Team photos and videos let you present a more personal side to your restaurant

2. Include photos of the owner or general manager, the head chef and other staff.  
Health and Safety Photos
During the current Covid-19 Pandemic it is important to reassure customers that you are taking their health and safety seriously.

Photo guidelines


Your photos will look best if they meet the following standards:
  • Format: JPG or PNG.
  • Size: Between 100 KB and 5 MB.
  • Recommended resolution:  720 px tall, 720 px wide (for website Home Page Photos the min res should be 2000 px wide)
  • Minimum resolution:  250 px tall, 250 px wide.
  • Quality: The photo should be in focus and well lit, and have no significant alterations or excessive use of filters. 
Additional Guidance for Website Homepage Slideshow or Main Frame Photos
  1. Template with 1 mainframe photo on home page - Need 1 High Resolution images in landscape format at least 2000 pixels wide
  2. Template with Slideshow on home page - Need 3 to 6 High Resolution images in landscape format at least 2000 pixels wide

Video guidelines

Make sure your videos meet the following requirements:

  • Duration: Up to 30 seconds long
  • File size: Up to 100 MB
  • Resolution: 720p or higher
  • Specific Guidance for Website Homepage with Video for the mainframe Need 1 High Resolution Video File at least 1920-1080p
