How to Adjust Tip Settings in Online Ordering

The Online Ordering Admin allows you to customize how tips are presented to customers for each order method. You can enable or disable Store Tips and Driver Tips globally, adjust the suggested tip percentages, and optionally configure preset tip amounts. These settings can be customized separately for Pickup, Curbside, and Delivery orders.

Enable or Disable Store and Driver Tips

  1. From the left navigation menu, click Settings.
  2. Select the Ordering tab.
  3. Select Ordering from the left-side menu.
  4. Use the Store Tip and Driver Tip toggles to enable or disable each tip type.
  5. Click Save when finished.

Adjust Pickup Tip Settings

  1. Navigate to Settings > Locations and open the desired location.
  2. Select the Order Methods tab.
  3. Choose Pickup Settings from the left menu.

Within the Tip Settings section you can configure:

  • Tip Options - Set the three suggested tip percentages customers will see during checkout.
  • Enable Preset Tip - Automatically preselect a tip for customers.
  • Preset Tip Type - Choose whether the preset is a fixed dollar amount or a percentage.
  • Amount - Specify the preset tip amount or percentage.
  • Minimum Tip Required - Set the minimum subtotal required before the preset tip is automatically applied.

Adjust Curbside Tip Settings

  1. Open the Order Methods tab.
  2. Select Curbside Settings.

Curbside orders include the following tip options:

  • Tip Options - Configure the three suggested tip percentages.
  • Enable Preset Tip - Set up a preset tip (see pickup tip settings).

Adjust Delivery Tip Settings

  1. Open the Order Methods tab.
  2. Select Delivery Settings.

Delivery orders allow you to configure both Store Tip and Driver Tip independently.

For each tip type, you can configure:

  • Tip Options - Set the three suggested tip percentages.
  • Enable Preset Tip - Set up a preset tip (see pickup tip settings).

This allows businesses to customize gratuity options separately for in-house staff and delivery drivers.


Tips

  • Tip percentage settings are configured per location, so changes only affect the location being edited.
  • Suggested tip percentages can be customized independently for each order method.
  • If preset tipping is enabled, customers can still change or remove the tip during checkout unless restricted by your configuration.
  • Be sure to click Save after making any changes, otherwise your updates will not be applied.
