Creating a New Campaign using a template and making edits

Spillover provides a large number of email templates for you to choose from.  These templates are fully customizable.  To view all the available templates navigate to the Engagement section of your Engage dashboard and select Email Campaigns > Create. You will be brought to our template library where you can select an email and start to edit.  Email Campaign Template Library

I. Managing Email Settings

Click on the Email Settings Tab to view the editable email settings.  Enter the following: 
  1. Campaign Name
  2. From Name
  3. Email Subject
  4. Reply Email - This defaults to your Business Email.  If you are sending to a very large email list and don't want to allow people to reply to you then you can make this "noreply@domain.com"
  5. Preview Text - Max 100 Chars.   If you want to make sure your email headers are tailored to fit a wide range of devices, you should keep your email preview text between 30 and 80 characters.
  6. Segments : If you wish an email to be sent out to your entire customer database, you can select "All Subscribers" under <Segment> category. To target a specific group select the desired segment from the drop-down menu.
  7. Locations: If you have more than one location, you can also choose to send location-based emails by selecting the location from the drop down list.
  1. If you don't want it to be a location-based email, then check the "Ignore Location Based Email"
  1. Social media links -- which appear as icons in the email footer  -- by clicking the corresponding checkboxes in the editor.  There are different style variants available.



II. Editing Email Content


To start editing the email content click on the Design Email Tab.


There are multiple editing options that can be accessed via the menu  and via the quick buttons.   

List of Quick Buttons

  -> Add URL Link to highlighted Text
 - > Add Emoji
-> Add Video Link
-> Preview your Email
->Change the Email Header (note the email template must support a header)
-> Add 'Call To Action' Button with a link
 -> Add a Merge Field
-> Add a link to a Survey
-> Add a link to an eCommerce Store item (must be the Spillover eCommerce Store)
-> Add / Replace an image
-> Spell Check


Typical Editing Options: 
To change the color of an element in the template click on or highlight the desired region. Once selected, choose table > cell properties. The table properties menu can also be brought up via right click as well. Under the advanced settings, you can set background and border colors as well as border thicknesses. When you have entered the desire properties click save. 


To change the template image, select the image you wish to remove and click [backspace].  To add your own image. Click on the area of the table you wish to add it into. Then select insert > image from navigation or select the image icon. 
                



A window will appear giving you the options to upload your image directly to the email from your PC, or to select an image from your Media Library or to Generate an Image. For an image from your computer, select Upload. Ensure that the image you have has a width of 600-650 pixels for a full width main image. The recommended height for best message readability is 200-400. Drag and drop or browse for your desire image to upload. Click save. The image can then be manipulated. Don't forget to save your updated message. 


To insert a link, highlight the text you wish to hyperlink. Click on Insert > Link button  in the editor. Paste your desire URL into the box provided. You can choose to have the link open in a different tab or the current window. Make sure to click save. 






iii Saving and Sending your Emails




- Before your emails are completed, they can be saved to come back to later by clicking the Save Button.
- To preview  an email in your own inbox click send test.  
- To send your email to your chose Segment, click either Send Now or Schedule to send later. 
- You can also click Save Template to save a copy of all the edits you have created to the template. This will appear under My Templates for you to access and use again later
